DWP's Software migration would include front end code conversion, business logic conversion, report conversion, performance analysis, and new features that most customers would like to add during the conversion of the application. DWP will identify and utilize the opportunity for automation of conversion using various tools available in the marketplace and custom developed tools for the project. DWP's data migration would include moving the data structures, enhancing data model, optimizing SQL, tuning the database. DWP will work with the customers to identify the appropriate data conversion strategies of various databases of the customers of the product. DWP will also identify and address various data conversion issues such data integrity issues in the movement of data to new data model. DWP's deployment process would include upgrade of hardware, software, and installation of other ancillary tools. DWP will work with the customer to deploy the software in various locations of the end users of the software in SAAS and/or desktop models. |

For most of our customers this is a once in a few years project. The migration to newer technologies is of significant strategic importance in the life cycle of the product. Such a project should be done with detailed roadmap and with comprehensive approach. This would entail significant amount of time and effort to complete the project.
The cost of performing all these tasks on-shore is cost prohibitive in most cases. The ROI would be significantly less to do the work on shore in a rigorous fashion. With a large existing customer base it is important to do the migration in a comprehensive manner. However, under the current market conditions reducing capital investment is only possible through outsourcing. |
